Lisa Andreas MSW, LCsw, CDBT – Biographical Sketch

Upon earning her Masters Degree in Social Work in 2002, Ms. Andreas worked for a time with experienced mitigation specialists before launching her private practice. In 2003, Ms. Andreas founded the mitigation and consulting firm of Andreas Associates LLC. Her completed cases have yielded a high rate of success, impressing defense attorneys, prosecutors and judges alike. Ms. Andreas is much in demand for her accurate, insightful report writing in which she develops creative alternatives to incarceration.

In addition to be being featured in multiple news stories, Ms. Andreas has provided presentations and training for numerous organizations including the National Association of Social Workers, National Alliance of Sentencing Advocates and Mitigation Specialists, Dane County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association, Federal Defenders Services of Wisconsin, Inc., Wisconsin State Bar and the National Legal Aid and Defender Association.

Ms. Andreas is the recipient of the NASAMS 2009 Presidential Award in recognition of her “extraordinary dedication to the work of the Executive Committee and the Alliance.”

Ms. Andreas has been an active member of the National Alliance of Sentencing Advocates and Mitigation Specialists (NASAMS) since 2002. She has served on both the Annual Conference Committee and the Executive Board, and has facilitated the organization’s ListServ. She is also a member of the National Legal Aid and Defender Association (NLADA), National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and Association for the Treatment & Prevention of Sexual Abuse (ATSA).

Ms. Andreas is a past board member of Omega School, an alternative school for individuals seeking to earn a GED or HSED and TimeBanks, an organization devoted to restoring community function, social justice and rewarding civic engagement.

In 2017, Ms. Andreas earned a second Master’s degree in social work from UW-Madison with added training in advanced mental health. Ms. Andreas is currently licensed in Wisconsin as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker which allow her to offer diagnoses and clinical impressions in her reports and discuss during testimony. Ms. Andreas is also a certified Dialectical Behavioral Therapist.
